The first post in this enormous sea of blogs, that is the internet, will be about the reason I decided to go for a Startup and not a multinational at the end of my master’s studies.
Slowly slowly with all the changes in my life, i reached a point when i started believing i can change the world. Yes... i am at that age when i think everything is possible and i hope it stays like that for a few more years at least and doesn’t fade away with age like with most of the people out there. So, i decide i wanna change the world, so what, how is that new, how is that going to help me with anything. Well, after working for 1 year in a multinational, i realized it is very hard to change the world from there. I have too many ideas and I’m too eager to take them out into the market, to have the “patience” to wait for the bureaucracy and the system of a multinational to do that.
In multinationals you feel like a small piece in the engine of a car. You don’t do much practically, you don’t feel like you add anything to the ride. You are very replaceable, cause there are plenty of pieces out there. However, in a startup you feel like the engine of a new rocket that wants to do suborbital travelling. You are important, you are unique .... you count! You feel you can reach the stars, you feel you can make a difference, you feel you can bring something to the world. You feel you can make it a better place!
That is the difference… riding known places or discovering the stars.
I want to discover the stars, literally now, one day :P :))
...but of course, i forgot to add this, with a startup, you might be taking more risks. Take the tragic example of Virgin and the suborbital space rocket. Sometimes things do not go as planned and you might fail more than you would in multinationals. But when you do win, the feeling doesnt compare to anything!
